Business consulting for contractors who own the business.

Not project consulting. Not claims. Syboost works with owners of contracting and service trade companies doing $2M to $20M to find what is eating the margin and fix the three problems that matter most. Brooklyn, New York, and by video across the United States.

Who this is for.

General contractors, Remodelers, Plumbing, Electrical, HVAC, Landscaping, Pest control, Painting, Flooring, Concrete and masonry, Framing and carpentry, Commercial cleaning, Fire and security. Owner-operated, $2M to $20M a year, usually with crews in the field and the owner still quoting, approving bills, and chasing payments.

If you are looking for someone to manage a build, write a schedule, or handle a dispute on a job, that is construction consulting and it is not what we do. We work on the company, not the project.

What we look at in a contracting business.

Spending

Every card, every supplier invoice, every statement, then a sit-down with you on what stays. If your brother supplies your lumber and charges more, we are not going to tell you to cancel him. We work around what you will not change and find the money elsewhere.

Crews and office

Who is on payroll, who is a sub, what overtime and crew overlap are costing per job, whether anyone is running HR, and who is and is not pulling their weight from your seat as the owner.

Estimating and pricing

Whether your quotes are priced to make money after labor, materials, and callbacks, compared with businesses in your size range.

Job costing

Whether you can tell a profitable job from an unprofitable one before it ends, and which clients and crew combinations lose money every time.

Collections

How long money sits unpaid after the work is done, where the billing cycle breaks, and what it costs to carry it.

Everything else

Materials, freight, software, equipment, yard and office leases, maintenance. The same check: does it earn its keep, is there a cheaper way you have not seen, and is anything sitting idle.

You get the full list. Then three problems, in the order to fix them, easiest big win first.

How it works and what it costs.

The 30-day diagnostic is $5,000, flat. Kickoff with you, walkthroughs with your office and field leads, read access to the records, and a readout on day 30 with the three problems, the number behind each from your own records, and the order to fix them. How the 30 days run. What the readout looks like.

If you want the fixes installed, the 90-day implementation is $45,000, flat, in three installments of $15,000. The $5,000 is credited toward it if you start within 30 days of the readout. No percentage of anything.

Our guarantee is on delivery: if the agreed diagnostic outputs are not delivered within 30 days, we keep working at no additional charge until they are. We do not guarantee savings or any financial outcome. Estimates are for running the business, never for lenders, bonding, or investors.

Why contractors pick Syboost.

You deal with one person who has done the walkthroughs and sits in the readout. Flat fees you can see before the first call. Three problems instead of a binder. Read access only during the 30 days: we do not touch your accounts, your vendors, or your crews.

Syboost is a business operations consultancy, not a CPA firm, and does not give accounting, tax, legal, or financial advice.

How Syboost works with every kind of business

New York first, everywhere by video.

Brooklyn-based. Contractors in New York City, Long Island, and northern New Jersey get the kickoff and readout in person. Everywhere else in the United States it runs on video and screen shares.

Questions contractors ask.

Do you do construction consulting, like project management or claims?

No. We work on how the company runs and what it spends, not on individual jobs.

How much does it cost?

$5,000 for the 30-day diagnostic, $45,000 for the 90-day implementation in three installments of $15,000. Both flat.

Do you need my books?

We need read access to spending records, payroll by role (no individual pay), and the job records you already keep. We do not examine financial statements and we are not accountants.

Does my size matter?

The work is built for $2M to $20M companies. Under that, the fee is usually too big a share of the business. Over that, you probably have staff for this.

Do I have to be in New York?

No. Most of the work runs on video wherever you are. Contractors near New York City get the kickoff and the readout in person.
